Rodeo
is an unincorporated area of Contra
Costa County, governed by the county Board
of Supervisors. Community input is facilitated by the
Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council, which meets on the fourth
Wednesday of every month. To bring about improvements that
will stimulate job development and improve living conditions,
the county established the Rodeo Redevelopment Area (RDA)
in 1990 which encompasses approximately 650 acres.

Rodeo
is served by the Contra
Costa County Sheriff's Department and the California
Highway Patrol. Fire protection is provided by the Rodeo-Hercules
Fire District.
The Contra
Costa County Sheriff's Department operates a 'Resident Deputy'
program in Rodeo. Resident Deputies are dedicated to their
specific area. They are relieved of beat responsibility, enabling
them to interact with schools, service organizations, Municipal
Advisory Committees (MAC's) and the business community. These
Deputies act as direct links between the community and the
various services provided by the County, such as Code Enforcement,
Abondoned Vehicle Abatement, Litter Enforcement & Removal
and Crime Prevention. The Resident Deputy assigned to Rodeo
is Sean Gaskin.
