Rodeo is an unincorporated area of Contra Costa County, governed by the county Board of Supervisors. Community input is facilitated by the Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council, which meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month. To bring about improvements that will stimulate job development and improve living conditions, the county established the Rodeo Redevelopment Area (RDA) in 1990 which encompasses approximately 650 acres.

Public Safety

For emergencies, please call 911.

Rodeo is served by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol. Fire protection is provided by the Rodeo-Hercules Fire District.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department operates a 'Resident Deputy' program in Rodeo. Resident Deputies are dedicated to their specific area. They are relieved of beat responsibility, enabling them to interact with schools, service organizations, Municipal Advisory Committees (MAC's) and the business community. These Deputies act as direct links between the community and the various services provided by the County, such as Code Enforcement, Abondoned Vehicle Abatement, Litter Enforcement & Removal and Crime Prevention. The Resident Deputy assigned to Rodeo is Sean Gaskin.
